Interactive Security Technologies provides security solutions for residential property.

  • Perimeter sensors
  • Interior sensors
  • Personal protection
  • Fire protection
  • Audible alert
  • 24 hour central station monitoring
  • Environmental sensors
  • Glass break sensors

Several options are usually required to suit the needs of the individual since everyone’s perception of risk has variation. There are many components required to build up a complete system of protection for an inhabited dwelling.

Master Control Panel:
This is the processing unit or “brains” of the security system. It is usually placed in a secluded area of the home for safety purposes. It is guarded against power failures with a battery back up that can last from 12 to 60 hours.

Keypad:
Placed near the entry/exit doors and in the master bedroom, this is the most frequently used method of turning the security system on and off.

Perimeter Sensors:
Generally referred to as door and window contacts. These are the sensors that detect when a door or window is opened.

Interior Sensors:
These are sensors that provide a backup to the perimeter sensors. Motion and Glassbreak detectors are the most common interior detection devises.
When placed properly, motion and glassbreak sensors provide protection for areas of vulnerability and offer an enhanced level of security.

Personal Protection Devises:
Being able to notify someone in the event of an unexpected emergency is the purpose of the wireless panic devise. This wireless unit about the size of a business card can be carried on the person inside or short distances outside the home.
Common uses include children coming home unattended from school, adults requiring assistance at various times, and people that want an enhanced feeling of well being when working in and around the house.

Environmental Sensors:
Sensing units can be placed in the collection pans underneath hot water heaters and air conditioning units. These sensors detect the accumulation of water, giving the homeowner notice before water damage occurs.

Fire Detection Sensors:
Early warning detection is the best defense against smoke and fire. Smoke detectors are used to detect early accumulations of smoke in sleeping and non-sleeping areas. Heat sensors are used in areas where it is not practical to put a smoke detector, such as the kitchen, hot water and furnace closets and attic.

24 Hour Central Station Monitoring:
This is the primary reason to have a professionally installed security alarm system. Trained operators are on standby to view “events “ sent in to the monitoring facility from your home security system. An event can be classified as any activity that takes place within your security system. Whether it is a child putting in their 4-digit security code to turn off the security system or the power failing at your residence, both of these generate an event at the central station. There is some flexibility to the actions taken by the central station operators as a result of these types of occurrences. Major events would be “alarm conditions”. All alarm conditions are sent immediately to the central station, they are then verified at the alarm location or premise. This verification process will involve the use of a word or set of numbers unique to the users of the security system, when this information is given to the central station operator the alarm condition is either canceled, or dispatched to the proper authorities.
